Chiyoda has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from Saibu Gas to build a new LNG tank at the Hibiki LNG base, Japan. This will enhance the base’s LNG capacity, which currently has two LNG tanks already in operation. The third tank is expected to be completed by 2029.

Representatives from government agencies, local authorities and other stakeholders attended the groundbreaking ceremony on 18 July and Saibu Gas’ president Kato participated in a ceremonial prayer for the project’s safe construction. During the event, Chiyoda’s president and CEO Mr Ota expressed his delight at Chiyoda being awarded the contract and pledged to complete construction with an unwavering commitment to achieving the core objective of an accident and incident free project.
