Eemshaven port, the Netherlands, is celebrating 50 years of operation with an open day on June 10. Having grown into a major energy port over the last few years, the open day at Eemshaven will allow the community and industry to look inside the collaborative projects at work.
More than fifteen companies will present themselves at an information market, where they will explain who they are and what they do at Eemshaven. These include RWE, CIV Offshore, ECNN, EemsEnergyTerminal (LNG), Noordepoort – technical training and New Energy Coalition.
There will be various bus and boat tours around the port – and it’s free to attend. There will also be entertainment, including performances by pop choir Songbird (at 14:00 and 16:00), circus performances by Zircus Zorry (11:15, 12:45 and 15:00) and a photo exhibition.
Het Loodswezen will be hosting a climbing wall, featuring a large crane from Wagenborg Nedlift and Google will feature a caravan on site for attendees to learn more about the data centre world.
What’s going on at Eemshaven?
Work is currently underway on the construction of the 19th, 20th and 21st wind farm. With an installed capacity of 8,000 MW, Eemshaven is a major energy port, which has also made the port attractive for large energy customers, such as data centres.
It is expected that Eemshaven will continue to play an important role in future energy developments, such as hydrogen.
