JFJV2 chooses Yokogawa as MAC for phase 2 of LNG Canada project

Yokogawa Electric Corporation’s subsidiary Yokogawa Corporation of America has been chosen by JGC Fluor BC LNG II Joint Venture (JFJV2) as the main automation contractor (MAC) for phase 2 of the LNG Canada project. JFJV2 is a joint venture between JGC Corporation and Fluor Corporation, and hold responsibility for engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction and commissioning services.

As the MAC, Yokogawa will be in charge of CENTUM VP integrated production control system and the ProSafe-RS safety instrumented system, fire and gas systems, process historians, operator training simulators, asset management solutions, advanced applications, cybersecurity infrastructure and industrial networks.

Phase 2 will include two new LNG processing units, an additional LNG storage tank, a condensate tank, a loading berth, and expanded utility and process systems – doubling the facility’s production capacity from 14 million tons (12.7 million tonnes) to 28 million tons (25.4 million tonnes). Phase 1 began producing LNG in June 2025, with facility handover completed in October 2025.

Koji Nakaoka, Yokogawa Electric executive vice president & executive officer and head of the company's Energy & Sustainability Business Headquarters, says: ‘Yokogawa is proud to have been selected as the MAC for LNG Canada Phase 2 and to continue our involvement in this important energy development project. Building on the automation platform established during Phase 1 gives us an important foundation for supporting the next stage of the project. We look forward to working closely with JFJV2 to deliver safe, reliable and efficient operations, and to support LNG Canada throughout the facility’s lifecycle.’
