Integrated energy and chemicals company Aramco and automation company Emerson have announced a strategic collaboration to co-develop a next-generation corrosion management solution for Aramco.
As part of the R&D collaboration, Emerson will provide its ultrasonic online corrosion monitoring technology, including wireless connectivity for corrosion wall thickness monitors, and real time and continuous data collection. Combined with Aramco’s expertise and intellectual property, the companies will develop a fit-for-purpose corrosion management solution for Aramco processes.
Continuous corrosion monitoring is essential to eliminate difficult, inefficient, and dangerous manual corrosion measurements, while also providing a digital data stream for improved decision making.
