Belgian engineering and consultancy company Agidens has appointed Hedwig Maes as its new CEO from 1 October 2020.

Maes has more than 30 years’ experience in industrial automation and industrial systems. He studied industrial electronics at IHAM and business economics at Universitaire Faculteiten Sint-Ignatius Antwerpen (UFSIA) in Antwerp, Belgium. He was formerly the senior vice president enterprise solutions at General Electric for 14 years, and spent ten years at Rockwell Automation, where his last position was vice president global systems and solutions.

Maes takes over from Geert Stienen, who wishes to pursue opportunities outside of Agidens.

Agidens says that Maes’ strategic capabilities and international business experience will be important to the company.

‘We are very pleased to introduce Hedwig Maes to our customers, business partners and the Agidens family. We are convinced that Hedwig, supported by our board of directors, strong management team and the commitment and professionalism of all Agidens colleagues, will ensure a successful continuation of the Agidens mission and the close partnership we have with our customers and business partners. We would like to thank Geert Stienen for the great journey he has completed at Agidens and wish him every success in his new professional challenge. We are convinced that we will be able to work together in the future,’ says John-Eric Bertrand, Agidens chairman.
