Centrica Energy Storage has awarded Technip Energies the project management and consultancy contract for the front-end engineering and design (FEED) of its hydrogen-ready gas storage project in east Yorkshire, UK.

Technip Energies announced on LinkedIn that: ‘We are proud to support the proposed development of hydrogen facilities through this key piece of national infrastructure in the North-East of England, which will be a key enabler of the UK’s strategic transition to net zero emissions by 2050.’

Technip’s services will support Centrica’s potential conversion of the Rough gas field and the supporting infrastructure exploring long duration hydrogen storage. The company will oversee and co-ordinate the activities during the FEED phase and support Centrica in future phases.
