Managing the safe introduction of hydrogen

HYREADY is a joint industry project to develop clear engineering guidelines for transmission system operators (TSOs) and distribution system operators (DSOs) to support them with the preparation of both their existing natural gas transmission and distribution networks and their system of operation for the introduction of hydrogen and natural gas mixtures. The aim is to achieve a smooth conversion of assets and applications without adverse effects on humanity and the environment. It is our belief that the addition of hydrogen to natural gas is inevitable if we want to accomplish a decarbonisation of the energy sector and an advancement of more sustainable energy sources. The chemical and physical properties of hydrogen differ importantly from those of natural gas.
