CESPA and the Port of Rotterdam have joined to establish the first green hydrogen corridor between the north and south of Europe. The new corridor will connect two of Europe’s main ports: Rotterdam, Netherlands, and Algeciras, Spain.
The agreement set out will accelerate the decarbonisation of heavy industry and maritime transport as well as support Europe’s energy independence and security. The deal will aid CESPA’s ambition of becoming a key player in green hydrogen production in Europe and the leader in Spain and Portugal.
The cooperation is part of the Port of Rotterdam’s goal of supplying northwest Europe with 4.6 million tonnes of green hydrogen by 2030. This infrastructure will play a significant role in progressing the decarbonisation of industry and maritime transport.
