The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Saudi Electronic Information Exchange Company (Tabadul) to establish a new Port Community System to shape the future of trade, increase competitiveness, and achieve sustainable growth in Saudi Ports.
The MoU aims to expand the portfolio of services at Saudi Ports, from 46 to 150. This will include services such as geospatial technologies, Internet of Things (IoT) and advanced invoice and payment services.
The agreement set out includes the restructuring of operations and processes at Saudi ports according to global standards, as well as increasing their connectivity with global ports. Other MoU objectives include:
- Implementing modern technologies
- Utilising Fintech to provide safe, fast, and high-quality payment and invoice services to beneficiaries
- Shaping the future of trade
- Ensuring competitiveness and sustainable development in Saudi ports
- Re-engineered processes
- Achieving economic progression
- Setting an example
- Achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 for a thriving digital economy
